UNESCO-Heritage in Romania
The trip in Romania begins and ends in Cluj Napoca. You will meet the guide at the airport or rail station.

Day 2: Cluj Napoca - Bistrita - Gura Humorului (270 km)
City tour in Cluj, where we will see the main touristic attractions from the Capital of Transylvania like: St Michael Church, the house where the Hungarian king Matias Corvin was born, the Opera House, the Theatre etc. Next we head towards Bucovina through Bistrita. In Bistrita we take a short break in order to visit the city center where we can see the church with the tallest tower in Transylania, then we head towards Campulung Moldovenesc where we will see the world famous wood artifacts museum. Afterwards we drive to Gura Humorului. Overnight accommodation for two nights and dinner with Moldavian specialties.
Day 3: UNESCO-World Cultural Heritage in Bucovina: Humor - Voronet - Sucevita - Moldovita (210 km)
After breakfast we get ready to visit the UNESCO- Monasteries in Bucovina, also named the Moldavian Monasteries. First we will visit the Voronet Monastery "The Sixteen Chapel of the East in blue", one of the best preserved monasteries of the 15th century with frescos. Next we will visit the Moldovita monastery where one of the nuns will tell us more about the everyday life of the nuns here at the monastery. Next we go to Sucevita, the "Pearl of the Moldavian Monasteries" and to the ceramics workshop from Marginea. In the afternoon we will also visit Monastery in Humor, founded by a noble family. Dinner at the pension.
Day 4: Gura Humorului - Agapia - Bicaz Gorge - Brasov (320 km)
We begin our journey at 09:00 after breakfast. First we drive through Tg Neamt and Piatra Neamt to Bicaz Gorge. On our way we visit the Agapia monastery, the largest nun monastery (almost 500) in the country. In the Bicaz Gorge we will take a short, easy walk. Next we drive towards Transylvania passing through Miercurea Ciuc. We visit the fortified church in Prejmer, the most important and best preserved fortified church in Transylvania. After a short walk on the battlement parapet and after seeing the famous "Death Organ" we are invited for dinner at one of the local families. After dinner we drive to Brasov. Overnight accommodation for 2 nights.
Day 5: The Middle Aged City Brasov and Citadels of the Barsa Land (60 km)
After breakfast we begin our city tour in Brasov (almost 3 hours by foot). You get to see the main touristic features of this middle aged city inside the Carpathian Arch: the council hall, the Black Church (inside visitation included), the Weaver's Bastion (inside visitation included), the Black and the White Tower, the Schei quarter etc. Lunch break in the old center of the city. In the afternoon we drive to Bran where we will visit the Dracula Castle. Next we will visit the peasant's citadel in Rasnov . Dinner in Brasov with Transylvanian-Saxon specialties.
Day 6: Brasov - Sighisoara - Biertan (160 km)
After breakfast we drive first to Harman, one of the "Seven Citadels". Next we drive to Sighisoara, where we will visit the UNESCO- world cultural heritage city for about 1h 30 min. We will see: the covered staircase, the hill church, and the clock tower and many other sightseeing objectives. Lunch in the city. In the afternoon we drive to Biertan. Here we will visit this imposing fortified church which was the Bishop's residence for almost 300 years. Dinner and overnight accommodation in an adorable pension.
Day 7: Biertan - Sibiu - Cluj Napoca (250 km)
Today, after breakfast, we will first visit the church castle in Medias. Afterwards we head to Sibiu where we will admire the main sightseeing objectives of the 2007 European Cultural Capital: The Evangelic Church, The council tower, the liar's bridge etc. In the afternoon we drive to Cluj Napoca passing through Alba Iulia, the heart of Romania's history. Dinner and overnight accommodation in Cluj Napoca.
Day 8: Departure (20 km)
Transfer to the airport/ train station in Cluj Napoca.
